Free role-playing game
Forgotten Worlds is a free experience for Roblox created by Virtuality World. The game is a feeble attempt at a fantasy roleplay experience which cannot be recommended as a worthwhile playthrough. Even though the game has virtually nothing to offer, it is relatively popular. In total, Forgotten Worlds has been played over 218 million times and has been favorited by over 740,000 people. At the time of writing, the game boasted 4,000 active players.
If you’re looking for more substantial experiences, Roblox is full of games that have better-looking environments and much more in-depth game mechanics. Examples of such games that you can play for free are Crewmates Among Us and Sonic Generations. Even though both of these games are incredibly different in their approach, one common feature that they share is that they’re equally fun to play.
Dull experience
Fantasy experiences usually conjure up images of vibrant worlds with much to do and even more to see. This is not the case with Forgotten Worlds. Unfortunately, the game is largely dull and desolate. This is a strange word to use given that there are trees, hills, and bodies of water scattered all around. However, that’s where it ends. There is nothing in the environment with which you can interact, and there is very little of interest to see.
Poor mechanics
As discussed above, there isn’t actually any gameplay of which to speak. Even more unimpressive than that, however, are the mechanics with which the game operates. The first thing you’ll notice is that the wolf that serves as your primary character, should you choose it, moves incredibly slowly. Additionally, there is no way to make your wolf run.
Your wolf also doesn’t move terribly well in the water, and isn’t a particularly skilled climber. All in all, if you were picturing a wolf running through the woods at full speed, you’ll be disappointed.
Built for roleplay and imagination
Forgotten Worlds is one of those games that offers virtually nothing yet still has an active player base. This leads this author to believe that the people who indulge in the scant gameplay and empty surroundings are using their imaginations most profusely.
This means that while Forgotten Worlds may not be a good game for anyone looking for excitement or immersion, it’s perfect for those with the capacity to build worlds and stories in their heads.
